Faith to move a mountain

I look back through my life, thinking how many times I have been focused on my looks, my doubts, my goals, my dreams, my desires, my fears, my to-do lists, my feelings, and basically MY life! See the pattern? Goodness, that was exhausting just writing that all out. Not a good thing to be focusing on, not at all!

Sometimes in my life I catch myself worrying about what others are thinking of me or how I am coming across or how I am feeling that I forget the whole purpose of why I am here. I forget the meaning of life. I forget that I am a spirit child just going through a blink of an eye mortal experience. 

To be A True Disciple of Jesus Christ means to be so focused on others, listening to promptings and guidance from Heavenly Father and acting on those promptings! It's all about loving others so much that you loose yourself. This life isn't about you, not really. Yes it's good to take care of yourself. But picture this with me for a moment... What if you are so focused in prayer and asking Heavenly Father for help and guidance in every single thing that you do, that you completely forget about yourself? (Mark 8:35) You won't even have time or a reason to worry because your faith will be so strong that you know Heavenly Father has your back and He will not let you fall. What if you trusted Him so much you would do absolutely ANYTHING for Him? 

It's so easy to get caught up in our lives, we want to be happy and we have things to do. But Heavenly Father wants us to be happy ten bazillion times more than we actually desire to be happy. He can comprehend what that happiness equates to. He knows what that feels like, we have NO IDEA! He can comprehend so much more than we can. (Mosiah 4:9) So what if we gave up what we wanted and learned to let go? What if we let go blindly and full heartedly, being guided by Him who knows all? Just what would our lives look like then?

Heavenly Father wants to know that we are willing to do anything & everything for Him. If you feel His strength or guidance is missing in your life, prove to Him you would risk everything if it is what He wanted you to do. He loves you so much. That love doesn't ever change. When we do things He asks us to do, that's when the purest of all joy can enter our lives because He always knows best.

I'm contemplating a HUGE decision at this moment. Something that creates the strongest of butterflies in my stomach just typing these words. I'm in tears just writing this. But I want God to know that I trust Him. I don't think like Him (Isaiah 55:8) and I can't possibly comprehend how this is going to turn out, but I love Him and I know without a doubt He loves me so I have to do the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my entire life to let God know that He can trust me. 

If something brings you peace or comfort and you can't even comprehend it, it's okay - just TRUST it! If you feel doubt, confusion, sorrow, heartache, or any negative emotion then it's obviously a sign for you to TURN AROUND. (Remember the wrong way sign in Mario Kart?, it's just like that! I may have seen that sign a little too much as my brother taught me to play!) But seriously, when we give every single thing we have to offer, we are ALWAYS blessed in return. If it is something God is asking you to do, He will prepare the way. (1 Nephi 3:7)

MORAL: When you feel lost, broken or you sense a missing connection with Heavenly Father, find something you can do that would take EVERY BIT OF FAITH YOU HAD and act on it. Show Heavenly Father that you can be trusted. You will be forever blessed and the spirit will come rushing into your life.
